Houttuynia cordata 'Plena' (or 'Flore Pleno') is a robust, spreading perennial aquatic plant, commonly known as the Orange Peel Plant, celebrated for its double, white, bract-like flowers (May–Sept) and aromatic, heart-shaped green-to-reddish leaves. Ideal for pond margins (0–10 cm depth) or moist soil, it grows 20–60 cm tall and spreads vigorously.

Key Characteristics & Details:
Flowers: Prolific, double-white, rosette-shaped flowers that appear from late spring through summer.

Foliage: Heart-shaped, aromatic leaves that often feature shades of green, red, and sometimes cream.

Scent: Leaves emit a distinct citrus/orange peel aroma when crushed.

Growth: Spreads via underground rhizomes to form dense clumps.

Habitat: Thrives in full sun to part shade in moist soil or marginal water areas.

Maintenance: Low maintenance; requires trimming in early spring or after foliage dies back.

This plant is often used for, and acts as, a great, versatile groundcover in bog gardens or around the edge of water features.
