📏 Care Requirements

🧬 Scientific Name: Caridina cf. cantonensis “Red Bee”
📛 Common Name: Red Bee Shrimp
🏠 Tank Size: 30L+ recommended (stable, mature setup required)
🌡️ Temperature: 20–24°C
⚗️ pH Range: 5.8–6.8 (slightly acidic preferred)
💧 GH/KH: Soft water conditions (GH 4–6 ideal, low KH)
🧘 Temperament: Completely peaceful
🍽️ Diet: Algae, biofilm, shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables, specialist Caridina foods
👥 Group Size: Colony of 10+ recommended

Red Bee Shrimp thrive in mature, carefully maintained aquariums with stable parameters, often using active substrates, moss, and gentle filtration.

🐠 Compatibility

Best kept in shrimp-only or dedicated Caridina setups. If housed with fish, only extremely small, peaceful species may be suitable. Avoid all larger or predatory fish.

⚠️ Important Notes

Red Bee Shrimp are more sensitive than Neocaridina species and require soft, low-TDS, stable water conditions. They breed more slowly but produce highly desirable, patterned offspring when properly maintained. Stability is more important than frequent water changes.

The Red Bee Shrimp is a perfect choice for UK aquarists ready to keep advanced shrimp species and build a beautiful, specialised aquascape-focused aquarium.
