🌱 Planting Instructions

Remove the plant from its pot and carefully remove the rockwool from around the roots.

Plant the roots into aquatic soil or fine gravel, ensuring the crown remains just above the substrate.
-
Leave enough space around the plant for its tall leaves to spread naturally.

Avoid frequently disturbing the roots once established.
Like many Cryptocoryne species, it may experience temporary “Crypt Melt” after planting. This is normal and new leaves will usually emerge as the plant adapts.
🐠 Compatibility
Perfect for planted aquariums, shrimp tanks, and community setups. Its tall, flowing leaves provide excellent cover for fish, shrimp, and fry while adding natural movement and depth to the aquarium.
Compatible with tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, shrimp, gouramis, rainbowfish, angelfish, discus, and most peaceful freshwater species.
⚠️ Important Notes
Cryptocoryne retrospiralis prefers stable water conditions and nutrient-rich substrate for best growth. While it tolerates low light, stronger lighting and good nutrient availability can encourage faster growth and richer coloration.
Once established, this plant is highly resilient and can become a long-lasting feature within the aquarium, producing graceful leaves that add a natural riverbank or jungle-like feel.
Cryptocoryne retrospiralis is a fantastic choice for UK aquarists looking for a hardy, elegant, and taller aquatic plant that adds movement, texture, and natural beauty to a freshwater aquarium.
