Botia Sidthimunki or Dwarf Loach is another old favourite. Pretty, busy, and slightly aggressive is the best way to describe this fish. This smaller member of the Botia family knows how to look after itself so make sure you keep at least 5, preferably more to keep them in order! Growing up to 6cm these need to be kept in an aquarium at least 60cm long and will tolerate a pH level of anywhere between 6.0 and 7.5. Lots of plants with open swimming areas and a soft substrate of fine gravel or sand (nothing sharp to protect their delicate barbels and small bodies) is appreciated most by this species. They will then root and sift around in the bed of the aquarium seeking out tasty morsels, especially nuisance snails. Can be a bit lively, so keep with other active fish and feed a mix of sinking foods such as pellets, granules, and frozen tropical diets.
