Danio erythromicron, colloquially designated as the Emerald Dwarf Rasbora, represents a microendemic cyprinid species restricted to the lacustrine ecosystem of Lake Inle, Myanmar. These diminutive specimens are characterized by distinctive viridescent lateral striations, frequently complemented by erythristic fin pigmentation, with sexual dimorphism manifested through enhanced chromatic intensity in male individuals. Their ethology exhibits pronounced cryptic tendencies, necessitating maintenance in substantial conspecific aggregations (minimum n=10) within densely vegetated aquatic environments to mitigate stress responses and promote natural behavioral expression.
