Nymphaea 'Darwin' (formerly 'Hollandia') is a vigorous, hardy, and free-flowering water lily, ideal for medium to large ponds. It features large (15-18 cm), fragrant, peony-style, double-pink flowers with yellow centers that bloom from June to October. It thrives in full sun at depths of 50-120 cm, featuring dark green, round leaves.
Key Characteristics and Care:
Flowers: Double-petaled, light pink interior with paler outer petals, developing a deeper pink as they age.
Foliage: Leaves are initially brownish, turning deep green, and provide significant surface shade, helping to reduce algae.
Size: A large grower with a spread of 100-150 cm.
Planting Depth: Ideal in 50-120 cm of water.
Conditions: Requires full sun, still water, and is hardy to -15°C.
Placement: Suitable for the marginal, deeper zones of lakes, or large wildlife ponds
