Red Mix Guppies thrive in mature aquariums with stable water conditions and gentle filtration. They appreciate densely planted aquariums with open swimming areas, floating plants, and plenty of hiding spaces. Live plants not only enhance their colours but also provide shelter for fry if breeding occurs.

Maintaining good water quality and offering a varied diet will help keep their colours vibrant and their flowing fins in excellent condition.

๐Ÿ  Compatibility

Red Mix Guppies are peaceful community fish and are compatible with a wide variety of species, including:

๐ŸŸ Platies
๐ŸŸ Mollies

Avoid aggressive cichlids, Tiger Barbs, Serpae Tetras, and other fin-nipping species that may damage their delicate fins. Large predatory fish should also be avoided, as they may view guppies as food.

Important Notes

Red Mix Guppies are prolific livebearers and can produce batches of fully formed fry approximately every 4โ€“6 weeks under suitable conditions. If males and females are kept together, breeding is almost inevitable. Providing dense planting or breeding mops gives young fry the best chance of survival.

Males display the brightest colours and largest tails, while females are generally larger with more subdued colouration. Keeping one male with two or three females helps reduce stress caused by constant courtship.

Although they are very hardy, Red Mix Guppies flourish in clean, well-maintained aquariums with stable water parameters. A balanced diet containing both vegetable matter and protein-rich foods will help maximise their health, colour intensity, and lifespan.

The Red Mix Guppy is a fantastic choice for UK aquarists looking for a colourful, peaceful, and easy-to-care-for freshwater fish. With its striking red colouration, lively personality, and graceful swimming style, it makes a beautiful addition to planted aquariums, community tanks, and family-friendly aquatic displays.
