Monkfield 4th Instar Silent Crickets are approximately 12–18mm in size, making them suitable for smaller reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and other insect-eating animals.
Their smaller size makes them particularly useful for juveniles and smaller species that cannot safely consume larger feeder insects. As with other live food, they should be kept in suitable conditions, provided with moisture and gut-loaded before feeding to maximise their nutritional value.
Monkfield Silent Crickets are a quieter alternative to many other commonly used feeder crickets. The 18–25mm Standard size is suitable for a wide range of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and other insectivorous animals.
These active feeder insects provide a useful source of protein and can be fed as part of a varied diet. They are supplied ready for keeping and should be maintained at approximately 15–18°C, away from bright light. Providing moisture and appropriate gut-loading before feeding helps maintain their nutritional value.
Monkfield Silent Crickets are a larger species of brown cricket (Gryllus assimilis) and are one of the quieter commercially available cricket species. The 25–30mm Large size is suitable for feeding medium to larger reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and other insect-eating animals. They provide a nutritious source of live food and can form part of a varied diet.
The crickets are supplied in a pre-pack and should be kept at approximately 15–18°C, away from bright light, with a source of moisture such as potato. They should be appropriately gut-loaded and supplemented before being offered to animals.
