Super Red Ancistrus Bristlenose Catfish

Ancistrus or Bristlenose Catfish as they are commonly known are excellent algae eaters. They can be kept in all community and some cichlid aquariums. Growing to only 10cm, these can be kept an aquarium 60cm long and will tolerate a pH level of anywhere between 6.0 and 8.0. They spend most of their time grazing algae and chewing on pieces wood so be sure to have plenty of it in your tank ! Also you could add a few rocks and some specially made Ceramic Nature catfish caves too. Can be kept with most other community and small to medium cichlids. Whilst they will feed on any algae in the aquarium, also offer some algae wafers or catfish pellets and for a treat try pieces of cucumber, lettuce, or cooked peas.
