The Zoo Med ReptiSun 5.0 Compact Fluorescent 26W is a compact UVB lamp designed primarily for tropical reptiles and amphibians requiring moderate UVB exposure.

It produces 5% UVB and 30% UVA, helping support natural behaviour and vitamin D3 production, which is important for proper calcium metabolism and healthy bones. The lamp uses UVB-transmitting quartz glass and screws directly into a standard E27 fitting, meaning it does not require a separate ballast.

The compact design allows the lamp to be positioned either vertically or horizontally in a suitable reptile hood or clamp fitting.

Zoo Med states that the lamp provides optimum UVB output for approximately 12 months, after which it should be replaced even though it may continue producing visible light. It does not produce significant heat, so a separate heat source is required where the species needs one.
